Thor Legvold is the owner and main engineer at Sonovo mastering. Originally from the rich music scene of Los Angeles, Legvold moved to Stavanger in 2000, finding that both the city and western coast of Norway has it's own unique musical voice and culture. An active bass player for both live and studio sessions from the early 80's to late 90's, Legvold focused on honing his mastering skills before opening Sonovo early 2003.
Legvold has also consulted to both commercial entities and private parties regarding acoustics and sound technology, including the oufitting and running of Memnor Audio Archiving Services in Stavanger, www.memnor.no.

Margaret Luthar is an engineer and producer from New York City who was previously enrolled in the University of Stavanger's Audio Production post-graduate program in Stavanger, Norway and worked as a studio assistent at Sonovo in 2009/10 before joining us full-time in 2011.
Margaret has a Masters Degree in Music Technology from New York University, with experience in recording, mixing and producing a wide range of musical genres. We are thrilled to have her onboard and excited to expand our range of services to showcase her skills. Margaret will be responsible for location recording and mixing in both 5.1 surround and stereo alongside her duties as assistant mastering engineer.
In Winter 2009, she completed an audio engineering residency at The Banff Centre in Banff, Canada, where she produced and engineered concerts as well as studio sessions with resident artists, and studied with Martha DeFrancisco, Chris Chafe, Jonathon Stevens, and Mark Wilsher. In the summers of both 2009 & 2010, Margaret was an engineer at the Aspen Music Festival in Aspen, Colorado, a 2 month summer festival of classical music.
